Byron Nelson Award Winners List by Year Points, Since 1980.

The PGA Tour began its own Byron Nelson Award annually to the player with the lowest adjusted scoring average for the year. It has a 50-round minimum and was inaugural in 1980.

The Byron Nelson Award was actually based on the actual scoring average.

The adjusted scoring average is a metric that takes into account the difficulty of the golf courses played (using field scoring average as a measure the degree of difficulty).

Tiger Woods has won the Most Byron Nelson Awards with 9th times.

2017 Byron Nelson Award Winner is Jordan Spieth, whose points standing is 68.85.

The biggest difference between the two is that the Vardon Trophy requires golfers to play a minimum of 60 PGA Tour rounds to qualify; the Byron Nelson Award requires a minimum of 50 rounds.
