The MLB Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award is an annual Major League Baseball (MLB) award, given to one outstanding player in the American League (AL) and one in the National League (NL).

 This award has been given by the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) Since 1931.

 The winners receive the Kenesaw Mountain Landis Memorial Baseball Award, which became the official name of the award in 1944, in honor of the first MLB commissioner.

 Frank Robinson is the only player to win the award in both the American League & National Leagues.

 The New York Yankees team have the most winning players with 22, followed by the St. Louis Cardinals with 17 winners.

Most recent 2017 American League winner is Jose Altuve (Houston Astros) 2nd Basemen,  and National League winner is  Giancarlo Stanton Miami Marlins Outfielder.
