World Rally Championship winners List, WRC past champions List by year, history since 1977.




The World Rally Championship (WRC) is the International Rally series events organized by FIA , while choosing a World Champion Driver & Manufacturer-constructor. In The WRC , the Cars race on the Gravel road, Dust track, Snow & Ice.


The Rally series was first contested in 1973. The drivers' championship was first awarded in 1977 and 1978 as an FIA Cup for Drivers title, to Sandro Munari and Markku Alén, respectively. The first official world champion in rall

Sebastien Loeb is the Most successful Driver who won Most WRC titles Record 9 times consecutively from 2004 to 2012, while another French Man Sebastien Ogier nears the to holding then Most titles, Sits at 8th time World Rally champions, in consecutive titles from 2013-18.


Citroen Manufacturer cars have won the most drivers' championships with nine titles, all of them with Loeb, followed by Toyota with Eighth times.

Rovanperä and Halttunen won their first World Rally Championship after winning the 2022 Rally New Zealand. At the age of twenty two, Rovanpera became the youngest World Rally Champion.

Current defending champions of 2022 World Rally Championship champion is Finland Youngester, Kalle Rovanperä.
